Last weekend, the Tucson Speedway was abuzz with excitement as the SRL "Wild West Shootout Heatseeker 127" took center stage. In a thrilling race that showcased some of the finest talent in Super Late Model racing, Sean Hingorani put on an electrifying performance that culminated in a well-deserved third-place finish. Join us as we recap this amazing race and highlight the key moments that defined Sean Hingorani's outstanding performance.
The "Wild West Shootout Heatseeker 127" is a prestigious event in the Super Late Model racing calendar, attracting top drivers from across the nation to the Tucson Speedway in Arizona. Competing in their powerful and sophisticated 600+ hp Super Late Model race cars, these drivers push their machines to the limit in a bid to claim victory on the challenging 3/8-mile paved oval.
Entering the race fresh off his first ARCA Menards win with Venturini Motorsports, Sean Hingorani quickly proved that he was a force to be reckoned with on the track. Driving his Derek Thorn Racing/Fidelity Capital, #13 Super Late Model race car, Hingorani unloaded fast with practice times always near the top of the board and qualifying for Saturday night's 127-lap feature in the top three.
As the race got underway, the field was able to run almost entirely green flag laps with only one non-competition incident caution bringing out the yellow and a 1/2-way break for adjustments.
As the race progressed, Hingorani continued to battle for position in heavy traffic, running as high as second behind eventual race leader, Jacob Gomes. A critical moment occurred when with less than thirty laps to go, he made contact with a lapped driver causing damage and resulting in handling issues to his race car.
In the closing stages of the race, Hingorani defended his third-place position. Despite being challenged in the closing laps, he maintained his position, crossing the finish line 3rd to secure a personal best in the SRL Super Late division earning him a well-deserved spot on the podium.
Sean Hingorani's performance at the "Wild West Shootout Heatseeker 127" is a testament to his immense talent and unwavering dedication to the sport of racing. His third-place finish in the DTR Super Late Model race car has undoubtedly earned him the admiration of fans and fellow racers alike.
